My Review:

The title had me wandering what the buried secrets was. Well, I am not going to give it away, read the book to find out. Rose moves back to her hometown after her husband death with her young son. Luke was there helping his cousin but he had gotten better so he works for Rose to get her place more livable. I really enjoyed all the characters, of course the children always add so much to a story. This is part of a series but definitely read as a stand alone book. This is book 2 so I will have to read book 1. I look forward to reading more of the series. I received an complementary copy of the book from the publisher.

About the book:

Can love offer a new future…in the past?

A mysterious gown, unexpected courage, and a love that transcends time.

Nursing student Lena Lowery faces a grim diagnosis and a dangerous surgery. On the cusp of the life-changing procedure, Lena stays at the Rosswood Plantation Bed and Breakfast for one last weekend with her mother. There in an antique armoire, Lena discovers a Civil War-era gown that holds an unimaginable cure…a trip back in time to when the house served as a hospital.

Confederate Sergeant Caleb Dockery lost his brother, his eye, and nearly his life. Stuck in a makeshift infirmary, he’s counting the days until he can return to duty…and seek revenge. When a stranger appears, he suspects she’s a spy. If he can’t return to duty and find the revenge he craves for his brother’s death, he can serve his country by stopping this traitor. But her nursing skills are saving lives, and her courage and independence stirs his heart. When Lena’s safety is threatened, Caleb must strain the loyalties that bind him or risk losing her forever.

Caught between a future that holds no promises and a past that could offer new life, Lena must face an extraordinary decision. Should she return to her own time where her days are numbered? Or can she and Caleb find a love that stretches across time?

If you like historical romance with a twist, strong female characters, and heroes that transcend eras, you’ll love this journey through time that tests the limits of love.

*Her Place in Time is set in the house from The Liberator Series, just prior to the start of Leveraging Lincoln. Fans of the series will enjoy seeing Annabelle and Peggy in this new novella.

My review:

A time travel book is like watching Christmas movies with Santa and the almost make you believe. This one is a very good one. I just loved the story. Lena and her mom is having a one last getaway to an historical place. Lena goes back in time during the civil war, love how she does nursing during that time period. She meets Caleb and tries to convince him where she came from. Also a time travel book is a fun way to revisit a time in history. I received an advanced copy of the book from the author.

My review:

This book is very entertaining and very good mystery. I loved Greta who was from Germany, she was so funny at times. She kept trying to figure out the American sayings. Alice is a widow and her husband Joe was killed in the war. Some was of ones in her home town is connected to some things that went on during the war. The author did a good job of keeping the reader guessing who was the bad guys. Her sister n law is quite a character too. I definitely recommend this book. I received the book from Celebrate Lit.
