About the Book:

Revenge is the agenda…

“Find my sister.”

Rick Reiley’s words were what drove Luke to search mercilessly for Kerry. He is in a race against time to find her and will have to face more than a criminal mastermind to get close to her. He is prepared to give his life for her, but what about his heart?

“…I would like you to meet….My wife.”

Those words from her enigmatic rescuer threw Kerry more than anything else that had happened to her in the last few days…and that was saying a lot! Kerry’s simple life is turned upside down when she is kidnapped and dragged to the middle of nowhere by a madman. She trusts Luke with her life, but can she trust him with her heart?

As Luke fights to keep Kerry safe, the chemistry ignites and the danger gets closer.

Will God protect them while Luke tries to sort out his heart….and capture Kerry’s?

My Review:

This is a second in a series but can be read as a stand alone. I am enjoying the series, I always love a good suspense/love story. Kerry is kidnapped right at the beginning of the book but she is clever, strong enough to be able to get away. Luke is hired by her brother to rescue her.  Neither one is looking for love but you never know.
The author kept me in suspense wandering when the bad guy was going to strike again, I enjoyed getting to know Luke and Kerry, they were fun characters. I am looking forward to reading more of the series and getting to know more characters.
I received an complementary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.

Fool’s Notion

About the Book:

1883 California Trail, Kansas

Missouri mules were the best. Alda grew to love the creatures working side by side with her pa on their farm along the banks of the Missouri River. He would be hopping mad when he realized his wife and daughter colluded behind his back to sell a pack string. It wouldn’t matter that they were trying to save the farm.

Alda struck out on her own to drive the team over fifteen hundred miles. By day three, her lead mule Bessie refused to take one more step. It was a good thing the handsome cowboy Cord stopped by to lend a hand or Alda might still be sitting in the dust.

Now, Alda needed the man to move on so she could continue her journey. Judging by the spark in Cord’s eye … it just might take some convincing.

 My Review:

This was a very interesting and enjoyable book. Alda is traveling by herself with the mules to sell them to her uncle. She is trying to save her family farm but her father ends up charging her with stealing the mules.

Cord who is a bounty hunter comes upon her and decides to make sure she stays safe. They meet other families along the way. But he cannot always be around.

This is historical so there is lots of wildernesses and different type of adventure we would have today since traveling by horse, wagon, mule, etc. The story has a good flow to it and you never knew what would happen next.

My Review:

Wilhelmina who was called Will throughout the book is working on a newspaper article. She finds out a lot more than she ever thought she would. She was staying at an motel but then got invited to rent an room from Mabel. She has two young boys. Will has a little dog named Buttons. She takes her dog about everywhere and they have quite an adventure.

Will does a lot of exploring around cemeteries, caves and woods. She takes the boys with her at one time. She wanted to find more than she was told to find by the newspaper. You just never knew what was going to happen next in the story. I found the book very exciting.
