In THE DARK HORSE, widowed Chloe Brewton has made a life for herself in Christmas Town, Maine, teaching literature and being the drama coach at the high school. Although she’d loved her husband and their life in the army, she doesn’t really want to start over with someone else, but when she meets Major Row Welcome, in Christmas Town to spend the holiday month with relatives and decide about his future, she feels stirrings of old wishes for happily-ever-after. The attraction is mutual, although the last thing Row wants is to try marriage again, plus he’s about as interested in having a family as…well, he isn’t. But then there’s Connor Michaud and his three younger siblings. Oh, no. What now in Christmas Town?
I loved the story of Row and Chloe, so cute that Row last name is Welcome. Row comes to Christmas Town for a visit , he meets Chloe who is working with the kids doing a play. They are working on a musical. They are some kids there that is in foster care. What will happen to the children? Read and see.
This is part of a series called the 12 days of Heartwarming Christmas, they are all completely different stories set in Christmas Town. They are several others that sound very good like this one was. I really enjoyed the story. The author made the characters so real, unique names, the story really touched me. Brings out the struggles that kids face in foster care.
I was honored to receive an complementary copy of from the author. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.
